In August, chefs across the Genuine Dining Co. whipped out their spatulas and baked, piped and iced all manner of wonderful and tasty creations. From Reece’s pieces inspired treats to chocolate orange and pink, sprinkled icing, the competition was fierce. The pictures below of the competition entries will certainly get your mouth watering!
The cupcakes were scored out of thirty, with ten points each awarded for taste, presentation and creativity. After a week of scoring and more importantly, cupcake eating, the scores were finalised! It was a close call, but the winner was Kerri, with her Heavenly Divine Racker Lemon Cheesecake Cupcakes.
Kerri’s cupcakes proved too hard to resist as she sealed the deal with her lemon infused sponge, topped with cream cheese icing, biscuit crumbs and homemade candied lemon peel. These cupcakes are an indulgence not to be missed.
To celebrate National Cupcake Week from the 18th – 24th September, we encouraged chefs and customers of the Genuine Dining Co. to get involved and recreate the winning cupcake, using Kerri’s recipe.
An exclusive recipe card was distributed, encouraging bakers to get out their cake trays and rustle up a lemony delight.
